What are the latest trends or advancements in SAN technology?

Hello everyone,

I am interested in learning about the latest trends and advancements in SAN technology. I would like to know if there are any upcoming innovations worth exploring. I have come across some articles that discuss the current state of the SAN market and some of the trends that are emerging. However, I would like to hear from the community about their experiences and insights.
Some of the trends that I have found include:

Storage convergence: This trend involves combining network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) together.

Open-source, software-defined storage: This alternative to traditional SANs is better placed for developments such as Web 3.0 and makes it easier to lower costs.
Competing with the cloud: There is now a move to provide SANs and SAN-like equipment at much lower cost and level of simplicity that makes them usable and affordable by small and mid-sized enterprises.

Dynamic or adaptive methods for SAN zoning and masking: These methods can adjust the zone and mask configuration.

I would love to hear from the community about their thoughts on these trends and any other advancements in SAN(storage area network) technology that are worth exploring.
